About Preparation
Where should I start?
Start by reading the official UPSC syllabus. Then read NCERT textbooks from Class 6 to 12 for all subjects. These form the essential foundation.
Is coaching necessary?
No. Many candidates clear UPSC through self-study using quality books and free resources like UPSC Education. Discipline and the right material matter more than coaching.
Which newspaper should I read?
The Hindu or Indian Express. Focus on national news, editorials, economy and science. Be selective — read for UPSC relevance, not everything.
