How to Use the UPSC Score Calculator

Set the marks per correct answer and the negative marking value for your exam (defaults are 2 marks and 0.5 negative marking, matching most UPSC Prelims papers). Then enter the number of correct and wrong answers for each of the four sections — Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, English Language and General Awareness — and click Calculate Score.

How the Section-wise Score Is Calculated

For every section: Section Score = (Correct × Marks per Correct) − (Wrong × Negative Marking). Your total score is simply the sum of all four section scores, shown alongside the individual breakdown so you can see your strongest and weakest sections at a glance.

Why Section-wise Scoring Helps

Looking at your score section by section — rather than just one overall number — makes it much easier to identify which subject needs more practice before your next attempt, which is exactly how UPSC CSE, CDS and similar exams are structured.
